So it is a pity that in a new series that is about to come out the stage director has decided to change Manolo for Christian Louboutin. Though, Blahnik seems to be glad. According to his words, he has never dreamt of being famous but after Sex and the City every passer-by recognizes him, so he has got tired of being in the limelight.

I wonder that Manolo Blahnik brand has no designer stuff as any other brand does. Each pair of shoes is the hard work of Manolo.

Celebriries Go Mad About Shoes!

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Often we try to persuade ourselves that celebrities are ordinary people with ordinary tastes. However, I can hardly believe in this. The majority of them, for example, go mad about shoes.
The well-known singer Celine Dion once said that she has 3 thousand different pairs of shoes. The singer confessed that shopping for her is a real problem. She can hardly stop.
Even some men have a similar disease. Elton John is the owner of more than a thousand pairs of shoes.

Paris Hilton travels around the world, boosting Paris Hilton Footwear Collection. However the star doesn’t carry these shoes – she has about 400 pairs of footwear, moreover each pair is custom-made (on the one hand, it is connected with her capriciousness, but on the other hand, the star has the big size of the foot).

The actress Jessica Alba collects footwear as well. Footwear occupies two rooms in her house. What is surprising is that in everyday life Alba carries nothing but slippers. She needs heels only for official events which take place approximately once a week. Once Jessica paid over 40 thousand dollars for a pair of shoes from Celine collection.

Avril Lavin’s favorite footwear is sneakers. However, she has no favorite shoe brand, therefore the singer buys up everything she likes! “I have Converse sneakers, Dickies and Osiris as well. I don’t know for sure how many…but over a hundred.”

David Beckham is very picky about his footwear, it is important for him from a professional point of view. That’s why his football boots are custom-made. The trouble is he puts on such football boots only once.

Beckham’s wife Victoria buys a pair of shoes from each Christian Louboutin collection. Can you imagine that? Victoria is so mad about heels that in case there’s no her size, she buys a bigger one and carries it putting some paper in it so that not to slip out.

In short, stars’ madness about footwear is obvious. Many of them even launch own shoe lines. And when their closets are replete with numerous boxes with footwear, stars sell them at auctions considerably raising their own popularity.

The Biggest Footwear Museum

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

Thousands of footwear pairs, 4000 years of history, five continents and the most famous footwear designers of the XX century – this is how we can characterize the biggest footwear museum in the world, named Musée International de la Chaussure (The International Shoe Museum of Romans).

The museum is located in the building of a former nunnery in eastern France on the bank of the Iser river in a town called Roman-sur-Iser, which is situated between Valanse and Lion. The very building of the museum with its Italian architecture appears to be an important historical value.

In Musée International de la Chaussure one can see thousands of unique pairs of historical and modern footwear. The most important ones have a thousand-year-long history: here one can see the sandals of ancient Romans, medieval footwear, Renaissance footwear and the shoes, that were worn in the times of French revolution. The museum provides one with a deep insight into all historical periods, from the Roman empire till our days.

Many of the famous designers use to turn to historical masterpieces, exhibited in the museum. According to Beatris Blanche, the museum director, quoting the predecessors is a common trend in the history of footwear. For example, the forms of the 17-19 centuries look very alike the models of the previous centuries.

Among the contemporary designers, that exhibit their creations in Musée International de la Chaussure, we can first of all name Midori Masuda and Nike.

Midori Masuda collection is inspired by the national Japanese costume, the art of origami and the famous Japanese ball Temari. The author offers a new vision of kimono – it looks like a tiny dress for a woman’s foot.

Protect Yourself With The Shoes!

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

Protect Yourself With The Shoes! Electric Cinderella shoes are a real masterpiece of shoe industry. An electric charge of 100 000 volt, hidden in these shoes, will help their owner protect herself in every dangerous situation. A good alternative for electro shockers or tear gas spray . Many victims simply do not have time to use them, as they lie on the very bottom of their bags.

Pointed heels have always been an effective means of self-protection. Put progress moves on, and today one can purchase shoes, in which the main protection power is hidden in the front part.

An Italian designer Simona Pastick offered women an excellent and elegant means of self-protection. Electro shocking devices are hidden in the toe part of the shoe. Two leads are covered by a small plastic cases, that can be easily broken. In a dangerous situation a woman will activate implemented electro shockers, after what a small, but bright spark will appears under the plastic case – thus, your enemy will be warn, that the victim is not helpless. If the crime does not notice the warning, a woman can use electro shock, easily breaking the plastic case on the leg of a crime. Together with the shoes one will get a small pendent with a button, that activates the electric charge.

There is only one disadvantage of the model – the shocker, hidden in them, is one-time and needs recharging after the usage. However, the developers are ready to improve this in the nearest future.
