    Sanuk

" Sanuk is commited to a future where their footprint on the environment shrinks to a size: 4! In the meantime, Sanuk has eliminated the paper stuffing in their shoes and they ship product without boxes. This not only saves heaps of trees, it also allows them to ship twice as many in the same space as boxed shoes. By cutting their shipping size in half they also cut their fuel and freight usage in half. Sandal hangers are now made from recycled cardboard instead of plastic. Instead of boxes, shoes are packed in bags made of cornstarch which decompose quickly. Sanuk is also starting to use a new material called Trelon, which is a natural rubber substance, instead of EVA. Features of these shoes: Side walk surfers are sandal lowers with a deconstructed shoe type of upper. The upper is attached to the lower in a way that none of the components of a shoe are used. There are no shanks, stitch boards or other inhibitors of walking naturally. The outcome is a piece of footwear that mimicks the natural function of the foot. Sanuk refers to it as Barefoot Untechnology. Side Walk Surfers allow your feet to bend and flex the way nature designed you to walk. The loose upper allows your foot to spread so that it can absorb shock naturally. This strengthens the small muscles which support your arch and encourages you to walk correctly. The shape of the sandal bottom is key: unlike many shoes which slant your body forwards, our flat bottomed Surfers allow your posture to remain erect. Canvas clog upper offers the look of a shoe and the easy on/off convenience of a sandal. To clean these surfers: Machine wash on gentle cycle and air dry! Canvas clog upper offers the look of a shoe and the easy on/off convenience of a sandal."
